It is important to offer different methods to encourage student participation as students have different learning styles and comfort zones. Utilising different approaches can ensure that all students find a way to actively participate in the classroom and contribute their individual strengths. 

The Think-Pair-Share method can promote students' critical thinking by encouraging them to develop their own ideas, discuss them in small groups and finally present them to the class. This process encourages students to reflect, question and refine their thoughts, which can lead to a deeper understanding of the topic.
