Communication tools
Effective communication between teachers and students is the cornerstone of successful learning. In the digital era, communication no longer relies solely on classroom discussions. By integrating digital tools, teachers and students can create richer, multi-dimensional interactions that enhance understanding and engagement. These tools not only complement traditional methods for case study learning but also open new possibilities for collaboration and feedback, helping to achieve learning outcomes more effectively.
In the video, we take a look at popular tools and platforms for communication.
Personal reflection
How can you make synchronous online interactions more inclusive and engaging for all students?
If you have some sessions in your case study teaching online, you can use synchronous interactions tools such as polls, break out rooms for small group discussions and shared whiteboards which all students use at the same time.
How can you make asynchronous online interactions more inclusive and engaging for all students?
You can utilise Learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle or Google classroom as a platform for asynchronous interactions. It enables distributing materials, peer feedback and collecting reflections. You can ask students to comment each others tasks or solutions. There can also be a platform for questions and answers. Discourse tool can provide a tool for more in-depth discussion about the cases.
